This site has background information and present projects of the NAFTA Commission established the Advisory Committee on Private Commercial Disputes (Committee), as required by NAFTA Article 2022. The Committee is required to report and make recommendations to the Commission on general issues referred to it by the Commission on the availability, use and effectiveness of arbitration and other procedures for the resolution of private international commercial disputes in the free trade area.

This site looks at what was decided at the Temporary Entry Working Group (TEWG) which met in November 1995 in Washington, D.C., and in November 1996 in Ottawa, Canada, in fulfillment of its obligations under Article 1605. The meetings provided the opportunity to discuss issues arising from the application of Chapter 16 of the NAFTA by each party and to develop common understanding among the three Parties.

This is the interim report made by the Working Group on Trade and Competition to NAFTA members. The Group is required to report to the NAFTA Commission on issues concerning the relationship between competition law and policy and trade in the free trade area, and to make recommendations on further work as appropriate. In this interim report, the WG describes its work accomplished to date and its work plan for the remainder of its five year mandate.
