The
goal of this course is to familiarize students with the basic microeconomic
concepts that underlie the analysis of the economic effects of trade,
competition, industrial and regulatory policy actions by governments.
A corollary goal is to show students how these concepts are
applied in economic analyses that support policy decisions.
The course is based on the assumption that students have had a
basic course in economics at the college level; accordingly, this course
will provide a concentrated review of the core concepts and demonstrate
how they are applied in real world situations.
