Students will acquire an understanding of the availability, sources and quality of quantitative and qualitative domestic and international data, and develop the skills necessary to critically analyze many of the issues typically present in international policy matters. Students will also learn the basics of Microsoft Excel 5.0, MS Word, Netscape and how to work the Net. Topics Covered Students will complete a mid‑term and a final examination as well as several problems and worksheets that reflect topics discussed in class In addition, we will examine various instances in which statistical analysis has been used to address often controversial issues in international trade and competition policy Specifically, in a series of six case studies on various current and historical policy debates, we will attempt to reproduce and present the results of analytical contributions to the debates.
